Dr. Fender is a founding board member at National Dental Healthcare REIT and helps to originate, evaluate and execute investment opportunities.

Dr. Fender founded and currently is the Chief Clinical Business Development Officer at Smile Doctors, the nation’s largest retail orthodontics platform, with over 110 affiliated practices nationwide. He was instrumental in growing Smile Doctors into a national brand through his expertise in executing and integrating acquisitions and de novos.

With over 17 years of orthodontics experience, Dr. Fender also serves on the Board of Directors of Canadian Orthodontic Partners and is involved with both the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Fender earned a Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the Medical College of Georgia Dental School where he was valedictorian. He completed his graduate orthodontic training at Vanderbilt University.
